What is in this guide
1. What we WILL do (What we bill for)
We use your NDIS Psychosocial Recovery Coaching funding (Registration Group 0106) to build your resilience, strengthen your self-advocacy skills, and support your recovery goals. Here is what we bill for:
1:1 Recovery coaching and resilience building
We hold direct coaching sessions to help you build emotional resilience, manage mental health fluctuations, and stay in control of your life.
Self-advocacy empowerment
We coach you and your family carers to speak up for your rights, express your preferences, and communicate clearly with NDIS planners and services.
Personalised recovery planning
We create and update participant-directed recovery plans that record your strengths, early warning signs, crisis preferences, and life goals.
Life transition coaching
We guide you through big life changes, such as preparing for education, employment, or moving into independent housing in Toowoomba and the Western Downs.
Case notes in Astalty CRM
We record session progress, goal evidence, and notes into your safe, encrypted Astalty database right after coaching sessions. This helps us to make sure your support is helping you and is worth the money. The NDIS allows us to charge for this under their rules and our service agreement.
Goal-linked community research
We research local mental health programs, peer groups, or community hubs that directly match your NDIS recovery goals.
NDIA review and progress reports
We write official implementation reports and plan review reports showing functional evidence of how coaching is helping you.
Short notice cancellations (7 clear days)
If you cancel with less than 7 clear days’ notice, NDIS rules allow us to bill for the session as set out in your Service Agreement.
๐ฑ Jenny’s Recovery Tip: Recovery Coaching is all about working together on your terms. We support you through good days and tough days, helping you build confidence step-by-step.
2. What we WILL NOT do (What we do not bill for)
To follow NDIS rules and keep our professional boundaries clear, there are tasks we cannot do and will never bill to your NDIS plan:
Acute crisis response or 24/7 emergency care
Recovery Coaching is a capacity-building service, not a 24/7 crisis service. In an emergency, please call 000, Lifeline (13 11 14), or QLD Health crisis services.
Clinical therapy or medical treatment
We do not deliver clinical psychology, medical diagnosis, or prescribe medication. We focus on personal coaching and life skills.
Making decisions for you
You are in charge of your life. We guide and support you, but we never act as legal guardians or make life choices for you.
Financial management or Plan Management
We do not hold participant bank accounts, disburse cash, or act as Plan Managers.
Formal legal advocacy and systemic advocacy
We teach you self-advocacy skills, but we do not provide formal legal advocacy. Systemic advocacy (campaigning for government policy or system changes) is never billed to NDIS plans and is funded separately by government bodies.
General office and marketing overheads
Office rent, business accounting, staff training, and pre-agreement intake calls are general business costs and are never charged to your plan.
Unbatched short tasks under 7 minutes
Single admin tasks taking less than 7 minutes (like a 2-minute phone call) are non-billable unless grouped together into a 15-minute unit.
Mainstream system responsibilities
We cannot do tasks that belong to public hospitals, public housing, state schools, or the justice system.
Books and educational merchandise
Physical books and educational workbooks are separate commercial products and can never be billed to NDIS plan funding.
3. How we track time and bill fairly (15-minute rules)
15-minute billing units (0.25 hours)
All billable coaching and coordination work is recorded in 15-minute blocks for actual time spent.
Grouping short tasks (Task batching)
Short tasks (like a quick phone call and email) are grouped together into a 15-minute unit and written in one clear Astalty note.
Provider travel across regional Queensland
Travel to visit you in Toowoomba, Chinchilla, Miles, or Tara will not be charged to your NDIS plan. However, we might decide, depending, to charge travel to your plan if we travel to see you at an agreed time and you are not there.
Clear, itemised billing statements
You or your Plan Manager get plain statements showing exactly what tasks were completed and how much time was used.
